เมื่อวันที่ 3 ธันวาคม 2553 สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปักกิ่ง ได้จัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองในโอกาสที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงมีพระชนมายุครบ 83 พรรษา ที่โรงแรม Kempinski Lufthansa Center กรุงปักกิ่ง โดยมีชุมชนไทยที่พำนักอาศัยอยู่ในจีน เจ้าหน้าที่จากภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนของจีน และคณะทูตานุทูตต่างประเทศที่อยู่ในจีนมาร่วมงานกว่า 700 คน
งานเริ่มด้วยพิธีจุดเทียนชัยสดุดีถวายพระพรในหมู่ชุมชนไทย โดยมีเอกอัครราชทูตเปี่ยมศักดิ์ มิลินทจินดาเป็นประธานในพิธี ตามด้วยการกล่าวสุนทรพจน์สดุดีพระเกียรติคุณโดยเอกอัครราชทูต และการแสดงนาฏศิลป์ไทย รวมถึงการบรรเลงเพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ด้วยวงดนตรีแจ๊ซ นอกจากนี้ ในบริเวณหน้างาน ยังมีการจัดวางนิทรรศการเผยแพร่พระราชกรณียกิจให้ผู้มาเข้าร่วมงานได้เยี่ยมชมด้วย
ภายในงาน มีร้านอาหารไทยในกรุงปักกิ่งและเทียนจินกว่า 10 ร้านมาร่วมกันออกร้านอาหารไทย เครื่องดื่ม ผลไม้ และขนมหวานไทย โดยทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูตได้นำ “ต้มยำกุ้ง” สูตรพิเศษ และลูกชุบมาร่วมออกร้านด้วย อาหารไทยจากทุกร้านได้รับความนิยมจากผู้เข้าร่วมงานเป็นอย่างมาก

On behalf of the entire staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, I would like to thank everyone for joining us in tonight’s celebration.
December 5th of every year is the day Thai people, no matter where they are, celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Today we all gathered here to celebrate the 83rd Anniversary of His Majesty’s Birthday.
The whole nation celebrates because the Thai people deeply appreciate the King’s devotion and hard work for their well-being. Throughout the past 64 years of His Majesty’s reign as the King of Thailand, His Majesty’s dedication to development and prosperity knows no bounds. His Majesty made regular visits to some of the most rural and remote areas in order to gather first hand information on the people’s well-being.
A number of Agricultural and Public Health Projects under His Majesty’s Patronage were initiated with endless effort and unwavering devotion to improve welfare of the Thai people. We all love and pay homage to His Majesty for his kindness.
Moreover, His Majesty’s talent in music is very well known. The songs you’ve already been hearing this evening are composed by His Majesty.
On this very auspicious occasion which is also the year Thailand and China celebrate its 35th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations, I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the close and growing ties between our two countries. I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to many of you here who take part in the effort to strengthen our relations.
And on this occasion, may I kindly invite all of you in a toast to the health and happiness of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and His Excellency Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China as well as for the prosperous and everlasting relations between Thailand and China.
